Bronco CB35061

October 27, 2020My first kit purchased after returning to the hobby after a 25+ year hiatus.
Very nice detail... mostly clean with little flash. I'm new to the plentiful tiny parts and it was challenging especially for a small tank. Some parts were a chore to cleanup.
Rubber part of wheel is a separate piece but the fit tolerance is tight so painting separately was really not an option.2
December 12, 2020Another new experience... working with photo etch.3
December 12, 2020Tamiya NATO Black XF-69 base/shadow coat.4
December 12, 2020Tamiya Flat White XF-2 highlight layer5
December 12, 2020The Ausf. D was only used in the Poland campaign, so I'm going with the 1937-1940 camouflage scheme of dunkelgrau Nr.46 and dunkelbraun Nr.45. My first kit to attempt freehand airbrush camouflage.6
December 12, 2020Dunkelgrau Nr.46 is XF-69 (60%) + XF-2 (20%) + XF-18 Medium Blue (20%)
Dunkelbraun Nr.45 is XF-72 Brown/JGSDF+ XF-68 NATO brown (1:1) + couple drops XF-69

December 12, 2020I must have gotten a bad batch of decals.. I could not use them as they basically started falling apart after wetting them as instructed. This crack appeared before I even touched the decal. Attempting to actually apply any of the decals resulted in the decal disintegrating.10
January 1, 2021The detail of the individual track links detail was very good. Time consuming with the link cleanup but they came together well. Fit on the drive sprocket was excellent.11
January 1, 2021Oil pin washed. 1:1 burnt umber & black.
Since the decals were unusable, I airbrushed the white crosses (XF-2). I just used green tape and cut out a template for the crosses. Not perfect but relatively satisfied with my first attempt at it.12
January 1, 2021Headlight lenses not installed yet..
And I'll probably add a bit more chipping.13
