One if the main problems with this kit is that the main front window frame does not run down the centre of the screen! So have to sand it off and then will mask and paint one that is actualy in the middle of the screen

Maybe you can use silver decal sheet cut to shape, to recreate the center bar? Might be nicer and simpler than using masking tape I amthinking. Might, require two layers of decals perhaps, no idea how thin such a decal might be.

Good idea to use decal for centre bar. Only problem I have is that the colour of the bar on the heli I'm making is the bar is fuse colour which will be a cream colour.

If you look at the subject, you will realize that the frame of the clear parts are almost flush with them. In most scalemodels those moulded on frames are way too prominent. So if you just paint them on - maybe with a layer of interior color underneath - it should look closer to the real stuff than masking the molded on strut. Apart from that, Treehuggers decal-idea often worth considering.
