T.O.B Batman 1989 Batmobile Final Build

To all Batmen everywhere, introducing the 1989 Batmobile made by AMT. There is no larger-than-life uniqueness to the caped crusader’s arsenal, aside from the gadgetry he carries, then the iconic Batmobile itself. This AMT model kit captures this iconic vehicle so beautifully. Got the model back from Gary’s Paint booth and he did a phenomenal job with the main hull of the body. The kit comes with quit a few options with a pull-out turbine engine, dual computer access panels, dual machine guns, grappling hook and of course rubber tires. I’ve opted out of putting the machine guns, grappling hook on it and went for a more streamlined look to it.

This kit comes with a dashboard that’s fully detailed, there’s lots of dial and gages to deal with, which I lit up with some fiber optic lighting. I put a lot of fiber optics in the dash lighting up all the dial and gages, I excavated the frontal and rear vents from the hall and added blue styrene and mesh fabric then installed breathing blue lights emanated from within. There are custom-made yellow Knight Rider lights install about the cockpit. There are custom-made blue-chip lights firing off in a circular sequence showing the turbine engine rotating. All custom-made LED lights were made by Evan Designs. There are flickering fire light set installed in the rear exhaust. Installed red styrene and mesh fabric in the side engine windows.

Sound Module: Mounted inside the Batmobile itself, I have a WayinTop 6-volt, 8MB, bottom controlled programmable MP3 sound module; with the entire 1989 Batman theme song and other Batman quotes uploaded into it.


This Batmobile is in class of itself. Envisioned by Tim Burton but designed by Anton Furst. A very impressive ominous sleek looking elongated silhouette with bat-shaped tailfins and a powerful jet turbine engine. Unmistakable and so indigenous to the Dark Knight motif of Batman’s character. Its design made its way through two films, the 1989 “BATMAN™ movie, a more gothic adaptation of Batman Returns.
