I wanted to experiment with modern ships. My office is located directly between a navy Drydock and and dock that sometimes receives active navy ships, and I've built up a good collection of reference photos. I wasn't able to find any of the ships from my photos at my local hobby shop, so I settled on the Oliver Hazard Perry as a ship of roughly the same size and timeframe as those that I've seen before
