I spent quite a lot of time designing this Ford Model-T in Blender, so it's always satisfying to see it come to life. Some of the cargo bits will need to be reprinted, but the main pieces seem to be fine. I'm most proud of Tintin's friend "Coco" - it was my first time modelling a human figure from scratch. He turned out better than I could have expected.

Watching with great interest... I recently saw a 1:72 3D-printed Model T on etsy... I'm sure yours will be better! And I always admire your multiple skills, from your older, "old-school" scratch-building endeavours, to now mastering this 3D-print design business... Respects!

Only a few more previous Tintin projects to upgrade, so back to work on a new project. I have to admit, I'm liking how this one is turning out so far.

Haha. Sharp eyes as always Alex. That ones still on the Virtual modeling bench, but it's coming soon, 🙂

Coming into the home stretch, but a couple of challenges remain. I must've misaligned Tintin in the driver seat, because now the roof doesn't quite fit. Oops. Was also not sure how to get clear plastic into the windscreen. I settled on using my sadly dwindling supply of Future to attach a slightly larger, but very thing plastic film to the very flimsy frame. Hopefully once it dries I can trim the excess and it will look good.

And there we go. My latest Tintin project - hot off the presses! I had to shave Tintin's bum a bit to get him to fit under the roof, but it's not really noticeable - even though I left the roof as removable. The thread I used to tie on all the cargo was a bit too big to be really in scale, but it was the best option I had in my monkey business room, so I think it's just going to have to do.

Thanks. This was one of the projects I wanted to "wait until I'm good enough" to tackle. I did have an aborted start using the RPM kit, but it just wasn't turning out the way I wanted it to, so I shelved it for several years. I'm happy for it to finally see the light of day.

Y'know Alex, because I had that extra 2CV base sitting on the bench, I accidentally glued the grass/train tracks to it because I wasn't paying attention. Luckily I was able to peel it off before the glue set and re-apply it to the actual Model-T base. Whew!
