It is a nice kit. Round2 contracted with Italeri for this kit and the 378 "Long Hauler" so they could offer a newer era of truck models. Round2 created new decals, updated the instructions and fresh packaging. (sidebar and shameless self-promotion: The artwork on the box - for this and the 378 Longhauler - are artist renderings of my models and photography). Edit: The decal sheet has a super-nice stripe scheme that was used on calendar and brochure trucks in the late 90s. The stripe will also "work" on the 378 LongHauler with a bit of trimming (and vice-versa).

Built this kit in its first boxing by Italeri. Nice kit. The hood\bonnet in my kit was warp which prevent it from closing properly and I only discovered this at the final assembly step when everything was already painted and finished.
Not sure why but these recent Italeri re-boxing by Round2 (AMT) kits are super expensive - sometimes double the cost of a similar Italeri boxing. Most of these kits are currently not available from Italeri so if you want one now there is not much of a choice but Italeri do re-release its kits quite regularly

I'd have to second, what Goldman says. The AMT versions are super expensive, and I'm guessing that it has something to do with import tax or something like that? But double the price, for a nice shiny box and a new set of decals? I'll hang on for Italeri to do there next version.

Italeri charged Round2 a lot of run the kits - they are a bit expensive here in the USA as well. The mid-2000's run of the 377 had a lot of hood warpage. The orange/red almost translucent plastic seemed to have the worst warpage. Most of my builds of the kit became donors for other Peterbilts and the hoods were never used.

I have just noticed that these comments don't appear on the kit page in Scalemates
Peterbilt 377A/E Tractor (AMT 1337, 1:24)
Strange and bit of a shame. It seems that each "wants this item" post is a separate entity in Scalemates
