I had a look at those nifty angle setters too. They're a pretty clever invention, for what we do. Then I came across their laser cut plywood, and that's spurred me on for a proper flatbed? I've seen it done before, both great and badly, but when it's done right, the difference is amazing. I have a gooseneck build, in the wings, and again, they'd work for that too. Didn't even know that place existed, and I've been in York several times. Thanks for the heads up 👍

Yes Bozzer, I will use the stock genders. I think they fit the look of this old trailer well. I just need to find a way to fill the voids on the underside of the fenders due to the fenders brackets being moulded in place.

Thanks for the heads up Bozzer. Yes, I know this is a challenging kit, especially the seam around the cab.
My plan is to replace the rivets with Archer Fine Transfers rivets.
I wanted to start this kit instead of the Italeri Mercedes but my Freightliner is in the 75 anniversary boxing and I considered for some time to save it unopened in a hope it will be worth more in the future but I changed my mind again and will start working on it once the Merc is done.

Speaking of "The Will Wrecker" I am considering adding to it an A&N lift axle and using it to haul my Can-Do rotator I have laying around. I think "The Will Wrecker" will be a great name for a rotator\wrecker vehicle...

I have a few of those wreckers, and I obviously plan on a Mack version. I also want to do a K100 version. There's lots of choices, so finding something else, that looks just right, kinda natural, is my next goal. I already plan several versions of the Mack R model. The wife thinks that I'm nuts, but it's better than sitting on a beach, drinking cocktails and getting red shoulders 😉

I actually gave this kit away, to a friend. I got it in a bundle deal. He was very happy at the gesture, and I was happy that I made him happy. Later in life, he gave me a Peterbilt 378.
Needless to say, what goes around, comes around.
But I'm curious to know, if I missed out on something? I did a Scania, and that seemed to take a lifetime (a gift off the same friend) Show me an American truck, and I've already got a vision in my head 😉

Beware. Zero paints are VERY hot and can affect your plastic, even through a primer. Use a 2k primer, or spray many very thin layers of paint with ample drying time in between.

Thank Martin. Yes, I know. I have used Zero Paints before. Using Mr. Priming Surfacer as a primer which is pretty robust and (at least trying) to spray the Zero paint in thin layers I did manage to have only very little crazing. Actually the Zero paint dry quite fast - I only wait several minutes between (thin) layers.

I did change my background in later projects...

The dashboard was nice but being just 2D painted PE it didn't add a lot on top of the kit decals. The PE set was very nice. The steps, radiator mesh, deck plate and the stacks heat shields looks so much better (to my eyes) over the plastics parts. The stack heat shields were a challenge to bend and mount but I managed to coerce them into place.
Didn't bother to replace the bars on the radiator shroud though. Seems like a lot of work for very little improvement over the plastics ones.

I built the chassis over 25 years ago before putting the kit back in the box and storing it until couple of weeks ago when I started working on it again. I will try to add photos once I had some bench time and figure out how Scalemates works...

Awesome 🙂 I'll keep on watching. I think you'll figure out fast, how it works with projects in adition with albums. Some words are written in the FAQ (part "Project management").
I used to create projects first and adding albums to it. So the album can be found in connection with the used kit through the project (each project is listed at the bottom of teh detail page of a model kit). When you creat an album only, the connection to the kit doesn't lead from the kit to the album. Hope you understand what I mean.
