The more shiny the silver layer, the better the candy effect. I did a Gundam with Molotow chrome as the base layer. The colours really pop.
I also learned the hard way that these shiny colours will reveal every imperfection.
I do love the red on your build.

I'm keen to give the 'candy' effect another crack. Will try a different base silver next time, cheers.

So yeh if anything, the colour has come out a nice deep red. And imperfections, lets just say you won't see any photos of the roof. It's not too bad, but you can see some inconsistency in the colour.

May be a long wait. Started test fitting parts on the w'end, and it needs a bit of work. Also looks like either the chassis or body is slightly buckled.

Everything was just going wrong with body. Paint fails and somehow an A-Pillar cracked.
So opened a second kit to start a fresh body. A thorough sanding, primer down and base coat of TS-63.
I have another idea planned for the trashed body.
