I was wondering if anyone out there had ever seen or heard of a 1978 chevy malibu 2-door model in any scale?

Stand alone kits no. There are plenty of Resin body replacements on eBay. The recent MPC release of the 79 Nova, could be a potential donor kit.

Not sure the major differences between 78 and 79 but there is this kit.
