Agree with the review. On the tail rotor, what Special Hobbies did was give you a tail rotor for the AH-1S which is different shape and wider in chord than the G model. They have been given the correct information and I believe they are working to rectify this. I might do a resin one to corrects it. I love the kit. I bought all three versions and I don't even build 1/72nd.
Also not mention, or if it was I missed it, there are resin seats available and also pre-painted photo etch. Both sold separately. I bought them at the Nats as well and they look great. You may be able to use them in other small scale Cobras such as the Monogram kit.
Love this kit. They mentioned scaling it up to 1/48th scale next year. Fingers crossed

Great! Could the tail rotor be cut and sanded to make it narrower or is the shape considerably different? Will wait for the next release with 'Thor's Hammer' decal option - maybe they even rectify it by then...

You could sand it down but it is substantially different. I'm sure that most would not even notice if you did it. Look at pictures of UH-1D tail rotor blades. It is the exact same blade. Of course you could rob a Huey kit.

I guess I will wait till the next boxing is released and see what I will do then... thanks for the help!

Hi Floyd, I read where they gave both lt and rt 90 degree tail rotor gear boxes. Are they the right shape?
I was incountry when my cobra had the conversion at Vung Tau. Gary

Also is the tail rotor hub correct? Can't wait till the 1/48th scale will come out. Thought I'd have to die first.LOL Gary

I can't remember anything wrong on the gearbox shapes. The tail rotor has the wrong hub with the counter weights of the AH-1S. Just don't use the counter weights.

Hi Floyd! I`ve allways been a fan of CMK and all there Sub-Companies. I saw many of your models posted on Hyperscale which were all quarter scale. So if You say that this kit is great ( even in the only true scale😉
) I will place an order right now. Many THX for this Information!
