Nimitz Cat 8

Built in parallel to the VF-41 model is this representation of 160383 AJ-201 VF-84 in the more standard looking lo vis scheme. I'm using spare decals from the Hasegawa old tool lo vis kit. 

At our recent model meeting in our local model shop, along with my last 2 completed F-14 models and her VF-41 sister

Getting there 

 

 

Took some daylight photos today of some of my F-14 models. Finally got some of this model in its completed state. 

Photo looks bluer than real life. A bit lighter in daylight thankfully.  

Weathering isn't as evident on phone camera.  

 

The patchwork paint effects are as a result of accidentally spilling a few drops of IPA alcohol on the Tamiya flat clear. Pure accident but I love the effects.! 

All decals are from the Hasegawa old tool kit "lo-vis" issue. A friendly modeller gave me these decals free years ago. Thanks Andy Mullen!
