Errrr... Ok, sorry, but I HAVE to ask... Obviously not a Spad VII... A very superficial google search seems to give the answer that "Quito Io" was a Spad XX... but again... not so sure...
Is it indeed a Spad XX? Or something else? And do you count on going on a heavy conversion (?) because no Spad XX kit seems available Spad 20 (Replica , 1:72) - or???? Please excuse my curiosity!

Hi Alex, and thanks for your remarks. Actually very helpful.
I do have some doubts as well and evidently I am not an expert in this old aircrafts. All the local references I have refer to a "Spad type" aircraft christianed as "QUITO I°".
The origins of Ecuadorian aviation come from the Italian Mission that came to Latin America in the 1910´s, so most aircraft were Italian or italian remanufacture, with Italian pilot trainers. NEvertheless, some aircraft were donated by private entities or foreign colonies in Ecuador, and this is the case.
Comparing my pictures posted, not even the Spad 20 resembles them, so I am still a little confused. Scalemates is definitively a good source of information and I do thank your comments.
The Spad XX seems to be a two-seater aircraft and "Quito I°" was not. This aircraft resembles more to me as a Macchi Hanriot HD.1 (check my other project at Hanriot (Macchi) HD.1 [EC] | Project by ajuradovb (1:72) ).

Indeed... The "Spad 20" info was found on this blog: nlarenas.com/en/2020..viacion-ecuatoriana/
... but there are indeed several things that simply "don't match"! So, to be further researched...!
BTW, I first saw a photo of "Telegrafo" in a French magazine (Le Fana de l'Aviation) back in the 1990s... and remember thinking, at the time, that this would be a nice modelling project... so, yes, I was glad, the other day, when I saw on Scalemates your own project... Keep up the good work.... thanks for taking the time for such explanatory answers (as on the other thread, with the Beagle Conflict etc...) - your interest in Latin American aviation history enriches the knowledge of everyone here on Scalemates - gracias! 👍

Nicolas Arenas is a friend of mine. I didn´t know about his blog. I am going to write him and pass our concerns about QUITO I and see what information he might have.

OK, we have an answer... I raised the question with Claudio Luchina (aka "Gabriel Stern" of wingsofintent.blogspot.com/ ) and his reply just came in:
Apparently this is a Bleriot-Spad 29...
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bl%C3%A9riot-SPAD_S.29
aviadejavu.ru/Site/Crafts/Craft33162.htm
Claudio mailed two photos of (French) S.29s that seem to corroborate his opinion - Ι'll be happy to forward them... 👍

Thanks a lot! We are closer and matches the references this side. It was a Blériot SPAD. But... would you please check the S.25 (link below) and compare with the original photo? What do you think?

Wheels are typical of the SPAD.
