Hi Steve,
I`ve some little experience with wood painting! My last projects was a Vampire and a Albatros D.III. Both in scale 48, but with minor deviations it`s the same technique in scale 72!
For now let`s have a brainstorm together, how I/We can help? What exactly do you need?

Thank you very much guys...Dirk, man alive your finishes are good!...any guidance you can offer would be awesome, im good at following directions 🙂 ...I suppose a good place to start would be just a general overview of my work (ill get some more pics up asap)...if you could show me where and how I could make improvements that would be a great place to start...if thats ok?...so cool!!

Hi Steve,
I don`t understand exactly what you need/mean? 🙂
Tips and techniques to replicate wood-grain or general improvements of your modelling skill?
Sorry, maybe I do not understand you correct! :/
I can give some tips for wood-grain techniques, general improvements are not possible, as your pictures are not really conclusive.. 🙂

Dirk - I am sorry, I should have been clearer...tips and techniques to replicate wood-grain effect would be brilliant, thank you.

Album info
A couple recent builds...both 1/72 Revell...the SE5a was the easiest and required the least amount of filling and sanding...but I enjoyed both very much...I use a combination of air and hand brush using acrylic humbrol/revell and Vallejo Air...I would love to know how I could of made the Albatros's fuselage look like wood?
