VW T3 1986 - Wip

There are so many flashes on the transparent parts, it all needs to be adjusted for a good look. 😉 

 

As always, I made a sheet metal connection. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The rims are printed on a 3D printer. 

To replace the side grills with later ones (1981+), you must first make holes. 

Make cuts between the holes. 

And cut out completely, and then fit with a file. 

After that, the grill fits. 

For the water cooled engine, the middle part of the floor had to be replaced. 

 

At first I thought to use the engine compartment from the kit, but later I realized that it will not fit the water cooling engine. 

 

Marking for a sliding roof (45mm X 43.75mm). 

 

 

 

The roof is glued. 

The taillights and turn signals are lacquered. 

 

 

 

 

Marking sunroof in front on the roof (14mm X 26mm). 

The interior bath is primed. 

And it is painted. 

 

The hole in the roof is roughly cut. 

And then fitted. 

 

The body is primed. 

 

The body is grinded. 

 

Many parts of the carpet are cut out. 

 

The carpet is glued in the cab. 

And trunk.

Then my customer wanted me to make the sliding roof movable...

I had to make this model under such lighting...😳 

A bad printing master partially printed the license plates for me, so I had to draw them myself.😠 

 

Bumpers are ready for painting. 

 

 

 

The body is painted (Lada 180 Granat).

The body is grinded with sandpaper P1000. 

The lower part of the model should be black. 

In approximately this position, there should be a nut for attaching the model to the stand. 

The body is polished. 

Gluing the interior bath and the lower part of the model. 

The lower grille and turn signals are installed. 

Painted external parts of the body (handles, window seals, filler cap, etc.). 

Inside, the body is painted. 

 

 

 

A flat window for sliding doors is made of transparent sheet plastic (1 mm). 

Creation of 3D models. 

Sliding doors are ready. 

 

Due to the fact that I have not yet learned how to polish well, the paint rubbed off a little, so I had to repaint part of the body. 

But for some reason the shade of the paint didn't fit... 

 

 

 

 

Installed mirrors. 

At an acute angle, it looks great. 😉 

 

 

The towbar is made. 

 

This is how much the unfinished model weighs. 

I added a "little" weight for the test. 

And tried to lift the model by the bolt, the whole model withstood the load! Perfectly!😄 

This is how I glued the nut on hot glue. 

 

The front part of the body, which I painted, tried sanding and polishing. Everything turned out well! 

Curtains are installed. 

 

 

The antenna is installed. 

This is the bolt (M5) used to attach the model to the stand. 

 

The rear seat is built from scratch. 

Cooling pipes (2 large and 2 small) are made of wire. 

That's how many 3D models I had to create for this project.😛
