Mirage 2000-5F - Opération Harmattan

Quinta cockpit decals came in, so time to start this kit and get some distraction from the Hustler. 

Of course the quick and easy build quickly derailed because I couldn't live with these intakes. So I still had this 3D printed compressor face.... and then the next thing you know.... 

So I printed a full intake duct 

Fits in nicely 

Not glued yet, so this will get tighter 

And of course it will take a few iterations to be completely happy 🙂 

Meanwhile the Quinta studio cockpit decals were placed. Gonna retouch these white sides with some NATO black later. 

The final trunk, also fitting snugly above the wheel wells.

A bit of a rim left, but the fit is perfect and so is the shape 

Shone a light through the other intake to try and see the engine fan :'-) Ah wel, I'll know it's there 😉 

It's been a while that I did camo, but this elastic putty I dug up from the stash certainly makes things easier. 

 

Made quite the progress on the Mirage 🙂

With a small LED flashlight shining inside through the other intake and using the tele-lens of my phone you can just make out the fan face and duct curvature 

Which no mortal will be able to see normally... 😉
