Another 2024 finished build

Another stunner Tim.
I love that you took the time to explain what went into this conversion. Thanks
Album info
Another finished this year. This is an Italeri Peterbilt 378-119 reworked into a model 379-119, daycab short wheelbase tractor. The build was inspired by a on-the-road spotting of a truck in Menominee, Michigan 15+ years ago. I managed to get a through-the-windshield photo to keep the memory.
The real truck was owned by Michigan-Wisconsin Concrete Company.
My build has home printed company names, cut-down fuel tanks to simulate the smaller size, Revell of Germany Peterbilt 359 fuel tank steps. The color is "school bus yellow." The trailer seen here is a 3d printed trailer (from the now-defunct Keystone). The create a 379-119 look out of the 378 (378 is a fiberglass hood with a 6 inch slope to the hood, 379-119 is an aluminum hood with visible panel seams and a 3 inch hood slope) I sliced off the top of the hood, removed the appropriate amount of plastic from the top of the hood and reassembled it leaving the panel seam. To do it properly huck-rivet fasteners should be added to the hood but I'm just not worried about those here...) The cab mounts have to be lowered slightly to account for the hood having less slope.
The real truck had faded Peterbilt nameplates (a problem the 90's era Peterbilts suffered from). I used etch metal nameplates from Model Car Garage and left them in raw metal which looks just like the faded 1:1 logos.
Thanks for looking
Tim
