I bought this kit in 2023 after seeing the October 2023 issue of Airfix Model World and the buildup. I started the kit and discovered that the upper wing was warped and unusable. I emailed Airfix photos and they immediately sent a replacement. It took almost a month to receive the part since I'm in the US. I started building with the cockpit coming first and was happy with the fit. Then I had to add the top wing and the fit wasn't as good as the reviews made it out to be. With much filler and sanding I was rapidly losing my initial excitement and decided to put it away for a bit. It sat on THE SHELF OF DOOM for two years before I pulled it out and became reenergized again. I'm still working on my bare metal painting skills but am pleased with the results. Decals are finished and a light clear top coat will be applied before a very light panel wash will be applied. After that the landing gear and smaller parts will be added.
Finished on 12/28/24. Last one for the year.
