Is it Snow or Salt?

I really like the recreation of pictures that you do.
And the dark green suits the truck
Album info
Way back in the olden days truck maker Peterbilt Motors Company created an advertisement featuring their model 359 in what appeared to be a snow scene, almost glacier like. Was it snow? Nope.. it was salt. Large piles of salt that were located at a port nearby the old Peterbilt factory. They used the salt piles for several advertisements in the 70s and early 80s.
This is my rendition of the truck in the advertisement.
I started this project on December 11th and finished it last week.
I started with the venerable AMT California Hauler 359. I lengthened the hood to create the long-hood version, cobbled up 2 Detroit Diesel 8v71 engines to make a 12v71. The frame rails were lengthened with a section from spare parts. A second air cleaner was sourced from the parts box. The exhaust was moved rearward of the sleeper on a rack fabbed up from Evergreen shapes. The grille is a resin piece that the former AITM cast using a piece I made. The front wheels are AITM resin that I ground out and thinned. The drive wheels are 3d pieces from ST.Supply. The longer fuel tanks are from an Italeri 377. The color is dark green metallic from Duplicolor. The grille, headlamps and aircleaners are painted with Revell Chrom Spray paint.
For the photographs I piled up snow from my yard and created a little bit of a tall background. I don't think I piled the snow high enough.
I really enjoy recreating these unique from-back-then trucks.
Thanks for looking!
