P-61 Black Widow

 

The decals that came with were completely un-recoverable (or maybe I just don't know how to use decal film...) so I did the plane up like it's part of the Earth Federation from Gundam. Got plenty of those decals! I'm a little disappointed in how the "Driver: Granny" decals (from Granny's Hot Rod) didn't adhere properly to the sides and look really frosty, but what can you do...

Update: I'm reading that some of the frostyness of the decal might be due to spraying matte right onto the decals, instead of an intermediate gloss coat? I guess I do usually put gloss over decals... 

I had a lot of fun painting little details on everything in the cockpit to make it less plain! Even if it is a little hidden in the final project. 

LOVE those green goggles, it's actually Army Painter Obsidian Pigment Toner. 

The cockpit still felt a little plain once installed, so I added some random squares of plastic I had sitting on my desk. Again, hardly visible but I was satisfied I'd done my best after it was added.
