Having two Spitfire Mk.XIV kits in my stash, I decided to build them together. They were the Airfix low-back FR XIV and the high-back Academy version. The Airfix one was definitely the more detailed and accurate of the two, but the Academy kit went together much more neatly. I used an Xtradecal set for the markings on each. It was only while editing these images in Photoshop that I noticed that the tailwhell on the Academy model had come adrift, but that is fixed now!
