Ho 229 V3 NASM

This is the hydraulic pump on Jumo 004. I think the detail is just fine. At least better than the original plastic part. 

I decided to try 3D printing this time. It has been a while since I last time doing 3D modeling in the university. 

 

I also printed some hydraulic pipe fittings in different sizes. 

When waiting my 3D printing vendor, I did some modifications on the fuselage. The V3 prototype displayed in NASM has lots of difference details with the kit.

I also removed and replaced the original bolts with etched and printed details on fuselage-wing connection parts. 

The port side panel and control stands were also replaced with printed parts to better express the condition of V3 in NASM. 

It looks details I designed for the junction box are too small to be printed. But they looks fine. 

I painted the cockpit parts separately. For the front panel, I tried to paint some degraded wood plies. 

I think some colors are a little bit bright. Maybe a wash after assembly will tune it down. 

Instead of Mr.Hobby, AK Gen3 is the paint I used this time. I did enjoyed the wide range of application. You can use them for both coloring and weathering. 

The starboard control panel is also finished.
