In pilot circles, the aircraft was also called Pinocchio 😉

Is this a kit or scratch built? I've heard of a Hütter 211 but this plane is new to me.

This is a whiffie. As part of a 262 groupbuild, I used the 72nd scale Revell Messerschmit P.1099A for this "conversion" 😉

Album info

In the early 60s, the colourful Republic of Germany was looking for a suitable high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft. Due to drastically reduced budget funds at the federal level, a draft by Dr. Hütter from 1944 was used. The prototype was powered by 2 GE J85-4s and flew almost unnoticed in US airspace for several years and has recently been confused with the AURORA project.
