Kawasaki Z2 750RS '73

 

 

Fork and swingarm sub-assemblies completed. 

Frame, engine, and suspension have come together. 

 

Handlebars and front lights are on. 

 

It took plenty of filling and sanding to get the tank and rear cowling to where I was happy with them. 

Color is Brandy Wine Candy from Splash Paints. Not an exact match to the real thing but close enough. First time I've used an airbrush in a long time. 

I couldn't get the tank decals to lay flat, so I gave up and airbrushed it instead. I changed the shape a little (and eliminated the crossover at the top) to make the masking easier. 

Doing some test fitting before spraying the clear. 

Clear is on, I'm loving this color. 

 

 

 

I'm not sure the exhaust is supposed to be canted out like that, but I got sick of fiddling with it and I like how it looks so that's how it's staying. 

 

Somehow I didn't realize the side cover is crooked. If I can get it off without breaking anything I'll straighten it, otherwise it can stay as is.
