March 20, 2025I used FolkArt clear primer from Michaels, mixed with FolkArt black to tint. This did not work out well. Primer did not adhere in some cases. I could have done a better job of prepairing by cleaning and sanding.2

March 20, 2025Paint used: Squadron 5-L Light Gray SCN005, applied with a brush (like they say not to do.) Black was ICM Acrylic Black 1002.4
March 20, 2025Paint fail! Removing masking tape removed some paint. Had to sand and repaint.5

March 20, 202520MMs have styrene shields and trunnions on kit base and gun. According to the original US Navy handbook for the Mk 14 gunsight they are not supposed to be painted, if I remember correctly. So, I painted the gunsights gray. I added shoulder rests with bits of wire. The ammo drums were awkwardly shaped so I filed away the bottom half - better. I used a fine hand drill to hollow out the barrels.25
