I know 😄 Waited long for this one. Wish I had a single seater though..

I have this kit. It can make an excellent what if project.
23 September 2014, 16:32

Knowing that Zoukei Mura will release one in 1 32th scale and probably in 1 48th scale many modelers will be pleased.🙂
23 September 2014, 18:09

Include me on that wish list. What an amazing plane for it's time. Gary

Wow a new Ho229 in 1/48 from Zoukei? Count me in! Thought they only did 1/32? I'm hoping that Dragon/DML will re-release the Ho 229.. But that is wishfull thinking i'm afraid.
23 September 2014, 19:44

Just went to the Zoukei website.. Didn't know they released the Ta 152 in 48.. What a beautiful kit👍.
23 September 2014, 20:01

was also hoping that there was more news on their Do-335... Nice build so far. Will you paint camo, or try the "unpainted" one with wood and metal?
24 September 2014, 10:15

Hi Bart, i'm planning to give her the "normal" nightfighter scheme. I will still be what-if but I think it comes close to a fictional operational one. She does not get the air to air rockets under the wing, that is too much what-if for me😄
24 September 2014, 14:44

one sexy plane 🙂
looking forward to seeing where this one lands 🙂
24 September 2014, 17:46

Top and underside are painted. Now the hard part, the nachtjagd mottling😄

Hi Erik!
Nice" What if" Horten. You are lucky to own this rare ragon Kit. Only one thing... the air to air rockets are not some kind of "what if" items.
de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruhrstahl_X-4
So give them a try on your model. Would be looking nice!
2 October 2014, 20:23

Hi Christian! I know the rockets existed and are not completely "what-if" but I doubt the Horten could take off with those heavy rockets and it's 4 30mm cannons😉. But most of all I don't like the look of the Horten with the rockets😄
2 October 2014, 20:32

Nice one...count me in! The X-4 isn't a very big or heavy rocket....it might have worked...but the Horten had no hard points in the wing...or did it?
2 October 2014, 20:36

Hi Erik fully agree with this. The look of a Horten is absolute awesome. One of the best looking airframes ever!
I Have a nearly 70 years old wood model in my collection.
May be you like it.

Hi wim, I'm no expert but I do not think there were any hardpoints on it's wooden wing. But, this is offcourse a version of the 229 that never came further than the drawing table so one can do what he wants with it I think.

Horten got it's paintjob. Unfortunately my airbrush(Badger150) didn't cooperate very wel but I'm reasonably satisfied with the result. Decals went on really well. Next thing will be a little wash and matt coat. After that the exhausts with Mr Metal color.

WOW !!! The flavour of the month is the "Horton" and what a superb rendition of it you have done Erik. The more I see of it the more I like its simple but complex lines. I am not clear on the scale of your build, but judging by the paint in the background, I am thinking 1/48. yes ?
4 November 2014, 21:03

Thanks Arne and Kerry! It is indeed 1/48 scale Kerry. The one true scale😉 The lines of the Horten are indeed very nice. Mine is a twoseater and it reminds me of a ray when seen from above. I must admit I like the twoseater more than the singleseater because of the extension of the front fuselage.
4 November 2014, 22:04

Did you see the photo I posted on my 229 of the cannon they were supposed to have had ? HUGE, apparently at the last minute the looked at a 37mm job, like the guns on the Kanonenvogel Stuka. ! 🙂
4 November 2014, 22:08

I picked this kit up at an Expo in Adelaide a few weeks ago, looking forward to building it. What was the fit like Erik?
5 November 2014, 01:06

Ben, fit is reasonably. But you have to be careful with glueing the fuselage halves together. Because there are no connector pins the allignment is tricky. Also take care with the front fuselage part, it is 1 big part with a fixed size. So make sure that the fuselage has the right height at the front.
5 November 2014, 07:23

Finally finished 🙂 Completely OOB except for some seatbelts and the red 6. Had fun building this bizarre aeroplane.
13 November 2014, 15:56

Jeetje Erik
wat is die gaaf geworden mu toch wel een beetje spijt dat ik hem weggedaan heb maar hij is goed terecht gekomen
13 November 2014, 16:09

Bedankt Rob! Ja hij is gaaf he. Ik moet zeggen dat ik er ook best blij mee ben. Had eerst mijn twijfels over de antenne in plat PE maar het oogt super. Beter dan de antenne op de achterkant, die is gewoon styreen.
13 November 2014, 16:15

Eric, I do like what you have done with this bizarre aeroplane and the cammo pattern especially. It is a delight to the eye and that's what we all want, is to please the observers 'eye'. Just SO nice Erik. Congrats mate. 🙂
13 November 2014, 17:07

Ik kan mij heel goed voorstellen dat je er blij mee bent Al enig idee wat de vlgd word(hihihihi)
13 November 2014, 17:19

Nice one Erik.... I believe there is currently a horton virus outbreak.. 🙂
13 November 2014, 19:06

Thanks mates🙂 Always nice to hear your opinions!
@Kerry, thanks mate! But i think mine Horten will stand in the shadow of yours..
@Rob, jazeker.

14 November 2014, 19:30

Thanks mates!!
