Wow, very well done so far! How did you get the black frames of the PE cockpit controls and instruments? Did you paint it, looks so tiny to get this done with a brush.

@Melf it was painted with drybrush technique, using Vallejo acrylics.

that's a nice start, I was in doubt if I would buy the aftermarket cockpit, but after having seen this...

killer looking build so far. Adam using qtip with a proxxon drill never occured to me for canopy polishing honestly, inspirational. 🙂

Excellent build, beautiful Flanker. What is the origin of that model stand? It looks very interesting! Thanks. 🙂

Wow, very nice work so far. The burnt metal on the jet nozzle looks great 👍
You kept the effect of heated metal very good. Q-Tipp and a Proxxon for polishing canopys. Mhhh, that sound not as a good idea, but apparantly it work well. Thx for sharing this experiment and keep on the excellent work.
Cheers, Christian

looking really awesome, i will certainly keep this album as reference when i build my Su-27. i really thought that there was a fault in my model when i saw those strange "pins" on the top of the wings. but i seem them also in your model. i guess it is not difficult to eliminate them

Christian. If you have drill with speed regulation and Power supply albo with regulation, you can set reallt low speed so there iż no risk.
Spanjaard. Just cut this pins off and putty.

Hey Adam, how did you achieve the metal finish at the exhaust, it looks awesome!
14 February 2017, 10:35

Thanks guys. Answering painting question. Different sections were covered with Gunze Super Stainmess, Super Iron and Alclad steel as base. Burnt metal effect are Alclad hot metal blue, violet and sepia paints. I was airbrushing various lines both freehand and using masking tape. I've also done some experiment with masking some area with salt and then painting hot metal blue. After that some areas were oversprayed with very thinned stainless to loose efect a little bit. Last step was dark wash and some random barely visible stains made with Engi e Grime from AK or MIG.
