Great preshading, wish I'll learn to be patient enough to get the same result 🙂 But what is that interesting build visible in the background of pic 9 ? 🙂

Nice livrey and paintjob... a pleasure to watch. What did you use to mask the striping?
26 January 2017, 11:32

Thanks Bart. The masking was from jammydog. jammydog.com/micro_masking_tape.htm I used the low tack stuff for this. Cheers

is this "mouth" on your heli the air intake for the engine(s)?
26 January 2017, 15:28

Thank you all. Hi Alex. It is the air intake. Usually has a mesh grill fitted. The italeri kit has the grill as a separate piece but no hole so had to cut it out. Quite hard shape to reproduce so it's probably oversized. The Bristow's helicopters didn't fly with the grill fitted as I believe that they could ice up and block (although maybe incorrect).
This particilar aircraft, G-ATSC, ditched in 1976 due to the ingestion of the engine intake protection cover not being removed. No casualties thankfully, but the aircraft was written off.
