Blue Thunder

the kit ... the movie Directed by John Badham was starring Roy Scheider, Warren Oates, Candy Clark, Daniel Stern and Malcolm McDowell in the lead roles. 

I added the fire tank with branch of the model tree and a bit of stretched plastic, I painted it in Tamiya Red. 

Here I had already opened the lower part to represent the area where the recording tapes go, but I decided to close it with thin sheet of a disposable party plate, it is really the thinnest of all the sheets of styrene I could get. 

I will mask all the interior, part of the engine, the contact areas of the other parts that are glued (so as not to dirty them with paint), and prepare the model to give it a black anchor. 

I put the stainless steel rod inside the helicopter and masked it with Humbrol's Maskol and all the holes along the back. 

In the sensor of the shrapnel camera comes only one panel line in positive relief and I decided to open it, I painted the inner part in white. I made a transparent with mica and painted it with Clear Red X-27 of Tamiya. 

All parts masked and painted with background Bright Black Enamel from the brand Rainbow, Italian. 

After the black background and several color tests now, I used the color Blue: Midnight Blue no. 15 Humbrol enamel ... I subsequently post-shaded the entire model on all the panels. 

I did not want to use the decals that come in the red stripes model and I painted them with the Red X-7 color of Tamiya.

Now, for the bottom of the helicopter in the manual mentions the metallic color but the color that convinced me was that of Gun Metal 1795 - without polishing - of Model Master. 

The part of the deck of the board I painted with Dark Anodonic Gray 1412 of Model Master, I did not like that it was seen in black or dark gray, I really liked the appearance. 

 

The entire articulated part of the Rotor had anchored it in Black X-1 and then in Color Metallic Gray XF-56, both of Tamiya. 

The model 1717 Aluminum Color turbine from Model Master and the Dark Anodonic Gray Model 1412 breathing and cooling grids from Model Master, with a very thin Dry Chrome brush from Model Master as well. 

To the escape, I gave it a bright black fondness and a Crome color by Alclad II, a marvel. Light reburn effect on Clear Blue X-23 and Clear Yellow X-24 both from Tamiya. Inside part of the exhaust in Burn Iron Non-Buffing 1424 of Model Master.

To the helicopter I added in the whole back part from the lower part of the engine to the rotating rotor a stainless steel rod type 318 so that it looks really metallic, the size is 3/32 ". 

The Cockpit I submerged in Future varnish to recover transparency and brightness. I will mask and paint it from Tamiya XF-19. Controls on black background and colored buttons. 

 

In the part of the floor of both pilots was painted in Light Gray XF-66 of Tamiya to give contrast to the Cabin. 

One pass to the buttons and the edges of the boards in color Chrome Silver 1790 from Model Master to dry brush, very slight too. Colors to some buttons in Yellow, Red and White all of Tamiya, as it comes in the real device.

I painted the cabin completely in color Sky Gray XF-19 Tamiya diluted with isopropyl alcohol. In Red Circle part that was removed to put the Stainless Rod. 

In the real Helicopter on the bottom of the pedals comes green, so I painted it with Interior Green 1715 color of Model Master. 

Control board in color Sky Gray XF-19 of Tamiya and I will mask it with yellow tape of TESA ... very good. Then I painted it in Tamiya Black XF-18 equal. 

I also placed the cables of the side television cameras with guitar strings no. 5 and 6 and I painted them black.
