Lol, ok I will try to decode these pictures now for you, and explain what's going on.
19 November 2019, 20:53

#1 was the test of the lights. I installed 3mm amber Led's in the cab roof. They were carefully placed, with holes drilled, right through the kit running lights and into the cab. Unfortunately, one of the headlight SMD's failed, so I omitted the opposite side and just had 2 instead of 4. Life sucks sometimes.

#3 is a 50mm strip of masking tape. To get my template, I downloaded the image and then scaled it. I then traced the image onto the tape. Everything stayed on the cutting mat. I then, very carefully, started cutting out the image with the point of a #11 blade. Several blades were used and I can't tell you enough, they MUST be sharp and take your time.
19 November 2019, 21:02

#5 is everything from 1 length of tape, placed on the cab. As you peel the tape from your cutting mat, parts will remain. Just place what you have, onto the model, then carefully add the rest. An important thing to remember, is when placing the tape, DON'T stretch it! Man, that creates a whole bunch of problems!

#6 shows the bottom half ready to go. For the top, I did the white first, then replaced the removed letter or corresponding piece of tape, then did the darker colours, ending with the black. Once I was happy, I masked everything and started with the bottom.

#7 shows what happens when you screw it up! My heart sank at this point. But hey, we never give up right? I masked off what I wanted to keep, then totally stripped the Champions part, right back to the primer. Then I repainted the green, and started again.
19 November 2019, 21:15

#10 is the Champions stencil. There was so many tiny parts on that, several beers were drank!
19 November 2019, 21:17

#11 is the Eagles emblem. That was done in the same way. It took 5hrs from start to finish, to do both sides. You can also see the cab wiring at the bottom. This is just two enamel wires, but I left enough length, just in case.

Very brave to post this one a couple of hours after Sunday's retribution game. There must be some Pat's fan lurking here 😉
Very cool job Bozzer! The green looks spot on and the masking on the back of the cab is very well done 👍
I don't know if it's still possible, but I'd mirror image the eagle's head on the righthand door. Then it would be facing forward, towards the endzone.
19 November 2019, 21:20

#12 is to show the size of the SMD's and the wire. The enamel wire is 0.1mm thickness. It's the best I've ever used. Thin and strong.
19 November 2019, 21:22

#13 shows tape on my gas tank. That's because I hid the rechargeable battery in there. Two wires out the back and through the chassis, hey boys, we're now self contained.
19 November 2019, 21:25

#18 shows the rear. If you notice, I have a red and black air hose at the rear of the cab? They are my charging wires. The switch is located under the deck plate, just in front of the 5th wheel. There's also another air line to be added to this😉
19 November 2019, 21:29

If you look at #16, that's a future project. I have great plans for this. I'll update this album, when I clear my bench a little. There's also a couple of pics of the stencils I made. Yep, I'm nuts! Total time on the stencils, painting, repainting and fixing my screw up? 56 hrs.
19 November 2019, 21:34

Martin, I also thought that too, but it's not correct apparently? I did this truck when we were the Underdogs, but still won. Man, that was an awesome night and a brilliant feeling. 🙂
19 November 2019, 21:41

Nick also has two eagles looking forward businessinsider.com/..ue&r=US&IR=T
19 November 2019, 21:48

@Martin. Well dang! If it's good enough for Nick, it's good enough for me. Something else to work on, before I hit the trailer. Glad you were on point buddy 😉
19 November 2019, 21:59

Impressive! How did you do the top marker lights on the roof? Future project of lighting a car carrier and truck. Any pics of the wiring in the cab?
11 February 2020, 18:26

@tim. I used 3mm LED's. I drilled two holes in the chrome part, then fed the legs through. Remove any chrome that the legs come in contact with, or you'll get a dead short. Remove LEDs, glue chrome part to cab, allow to dry, then drill the holes through the roof. Once you've done all 5, solder wires to them and run wires down the back of the cab or the A pillars. It sounds a lot of work, but worth it.

If you saw the 1/350 Enterprise I did, than you'd know this would be a cake walk. 3mm leds? Hmmm thanks! I guess that would be easier than fiber optics!
12 February 2020, 21:16

Fibre is a bit hard in areas like that. You'd have to get some tight bends. SMDs are better and you can get them prewired, so that makes things easier. Try to avoid the flashing one's though. The timers are all different, so they don't all flash at the same time. They also backfired, so any other light on the same circuit also flashes.

Hey monkey mate. The truck is done, but the trailer is still a WIP. This is the Italeri American Superliner kit. I need to dust her off after the group build and hook her up to her trailer. Trailer pictures will be coming up in the next few weeks. I have a fair bit of building going on at the moment. I think I've got about 6 projects in various stages? Two are awaiting decals, that I've not ordered yet. Need to pull my finger out!

Where did you find the spiral tube for the air brake hose? I'm looking for it everywhere and cant find anything close to that 🙁 Great work by the way!!!
28 April 2021, 18:22

Hey Phil, I don't what Bozzer used here, but I usually make the brake lines myself. I like to wrap a soft aluminum wire tightly around a #8 or #10 bolt, and then stretch the coils out to a more natural looking state. If that's not your thing, I know there's a few specialty vendors that sell premade air hoses.

This stuff is perfect for such things, 8 colours on the roll, and a lfetime supply for peanuts.

Hiya fellas. The air lines are made from fine wire, twisted around a very thin nail. They are actually also the charging wires, for the rechargeable battery that is built into the fuel tank. There's also a third wire, that's to be added, so when it's hooked up to a trailer, the trailer lights work too. The trailer then turns into a docking station.
2 May 2021, 10:10

Nigel, happy to assist, if you get the urge? The supply is 3.7v, as are the LEDs and SMDs. The rear red ones are wired in series, because red are a slightly lower voltage. They were also very bright! Hiding the switch is the main problem, but with modern technology, you can find mini micro switches and similar. Hope this helps.

Btw, album images can easily be rotated on the album management screen, for each photo.
