Cuajete, I believe those white dots is whitetack that held the paper masks in place. Something that I have considered doing myself.

what iz it with Commies and Special Hobby anyway? i have a Short Sunderland in the stash that iz also dedicated to Commie fighting...let alone "killers"...anyway....its a bit jarring to have references to killing commies this days....I wish Special Hobby would stop that..... there must be another way to have fun with the models...they do on other SH kits...
