This will be built for a Group Build on Britmodeller. The category is "swing wing" planes, so I expect to see a wide variety of variable geometry aircraft. So far, I'm the only dummy that picked a Grumman Jaguar! The other Grumman "Cat" seems to be a bit more popular! 🙂

Only prototype flew, first flight was in 1952 and the test program was completed in 1953. The Navy did not proceed with the project. According to the test pilot, the only part of the Jaguar which performed flawlessly was the swing wing! Lots of stability trouble with the tail.

Well atleast something. 🙂
Can you tell me something about the size? Or which aircraft has similar dimensions?

55 feet long, pretty big aircraft. The F-14 was 62 feet long. Have a look here:

Whoa, this has been on my wishlist for quite some time. I'll buy some popcorn and watch this closely 🙂
Do you have the Ginter book?

Yes, I have the Ginter book, plus a lot of extra photos that Tommy Thomason graciously provided. Tommy writes the blog Tailhook Topics, and authored the book on the F-111B that is in the Ginter series. The guy is a walking encyclopedia about naval aviation!

Oh, looks like there is another beauty coming from Uncle Bill´s bench!

This is a resin kit, and not very detailed, so don't expect too much! I was looking at the kit last night, and for some reason Planet Models thinks the Jaguar had an ACES II ejection seat! Oh well, I'll add that one to the spares box. I don't have a good picture of the seat used in the Jaguar, just a detail shot of the headrest, which looks like that from the F9F Panther. So that's what I'll use - I can get a beautiful resin Panther seat from Obscureco.

I'm anxious to get started on this one, but the Group Build doesn't start until April! Grrrr....
