I'm gonna try to recreate two photos that show the knocked out but not destroyed T-34-57 that was the last ride of the Hero of the Soviet Union major Mikhail A. Lukin. The photos was taken a few days after the battle at Troyanovo. Major Lukin was the regimental commander that was leadin' the Kalinin Raid in the morning of October 17th 1941 near Moscow and when the battle was done he was among the dead.
The major reason for this build is that I like to build a lesser known version of the T-34, the T-34-57 that was uparmed with a 57mm ZIS-4 AT gun with a for the time tremendous armour penetrating capability. There wasn't many T-34-57 in service in the beginnin' of the war n' there was even a few in 1943 but then the project was dropped in favor of the upcomin' T-34-85 that could do the same thing but that also had a much better HE performance as the ZIS-4 had very poor HE performance n' also was sufferin' from a poor lifetime as the extremely expensive shells was wearin' down the gun at a fast rate.
