Dive Bomber autorThe only fighter group to operate the A-36A in the CBI area of operations, it saw great success in support of ground troops committing deep penetration missions behind enemy lines.
The 311th used a combination of A-36A and P-51A during it's initial deployment, gradually replacing the aircraft with P-51B/C as the war progressed.
