I haven't taken pictures of the first stage of this project, but still wanted to include this plane here on ScaleMates.
The color is lighter than I wanted, but since I didn't stir/shake the bottle well enough the first time I used it, I used up all the dark pigment on that first use. This blue is nice as well, so lesson learned and life goes on.

Added the landing gear, and painted the steel parts on the plane. Next will be a gloss coat and decals.

Nice progress! Maybe you can tell us a little bit about the kit? How was the assembly? I didn´t even knew Revell had a Bearcat in 1:72.

Assembly of the kit has gone very well so far. Hardly any flash, and the pieces fit together very nicely. I expected more problems for a kit of 5 euros, but I am positively surprised. It´s a fun little kit, and if I every come across another one, I´ll buy it again. Even if only to be able to use the other decals. And the correct hue of blue of course 🙂

New photo's added! After 96 (yes, I've counted them) decals, the model really has some character. I still have to paint and add some bombs. After that, a final coat of gloss varnish and it'll get a nice place on a shelf.
Oh wait.... I just see that I still have to paint the pilot's face. Oops.

Haha i know what you mean. I love the moment all the decals are on, because of the transformation it does to the model. Getting there however... all the small stencils and stuff. It makes a real difference tough!

I remember as I open my kit box and inspect the sprues, I see the copyright stamp "1976 Monogram Models". I thought "oh no, again an old kit!". Yes, it is an old kit, it is partly very simple but overall I had a lot of fun to build this kit. It is not so easy to find the right colour for these model, any references give various type of blue. Mine was finally darker than yours.
