On 10th June 1940, the day Italy declared war, the 11th Hussars crossed the wire in their Rolls Royce armoured cars - the first unit of the British Mobile Force to do so. Remarkably on 7th May 1943 the 11th Hussars in their Humber Armoured and Daimler Scout Cars were, in tandem with the Derbyshire Yeomanry, the first British Unit to enter Tunis signifying the symbolic end of the war in North Africa.
This diorama depicts 11th Hussars vehicles during those historic events - a Rolls Royce from 1940 and a Humber from 1943.
