In remembrance of those that made the ultimate sacrifice...

At 0730 hours the CO, Sqn Ldr Anthony Traill and the Sqn Nav Officer, Douglas Ernest French took off in aircraft OB-H AN656 for Alipore, the commencement of their flight to Delhi. At 1020 hours news was received by telephone that the aircraft H had crashed in flames near the Ghagra River and both crew were killed.
The news was of a shattering nature. Both are buried at Guwahati War Cemetery, Assam, India.
Son of Ernest and Lillian French of Stony Stratford. Husband of Francis May French of Deanshanger.
