Building the diorama for the Dreirad

I love using my foam cutter, and I had ample opportunity to do it with this project. 

I chose the size to fit into a generic transport box. The idea is that the vehicle´s owner has parked it on his premises, having delivered manure or garden soil for his own use.  

He is about to unload at least part of the cargo, but also feels the need to refuel and do a bit of light tinkering below the vehicle´s hood.  

I enjoyed making those parts, using a pencil for structuring. 

Crumpled aluminum foil worked well, too. 

The "cargo" has been shaped and textured. 

I had made a small template to punch the cobblestone structure. Painting it was fun. 

Adding a bit of greenery. 

The basic structure is done. Now for the small additions. 

I got this gentleman, a very neat figure.

I added a number in the classical style 

One figure wasn´t enough, and MiniArt´s Street Workers seemed just the ticket for me. 

A sweep. 

A gaslight maintenance worker 

And a young lady delivering newspapers. 

And a beautiful streetlight! 

Work went well on this kit. 

I played around with metalizers and stuff, and rebuilt the lamp, exchanging the transparent parts for bracing from styrene rod. 

Jerry cans and tool boxes are always useful. 

With the bracing, I was able to add the glazing to the lamp using thin PVA glue. 

And I made a wee funnel for the fuel.
