Brendan АвторSurprisingly not too many issues with getting this one together - all my problems were in paint/clear (so my own fault, really). It's no Tamiya F1 kit, but few can reach such lofty heights 😄
Kyle DeHartTrue words. They do build into nice looking models though. Was very happy with my Lotus 91 until I damaged it moving it into its new storage cabinet. 🤦🏻♂️😂. Nothing a little repair work can't fix but I haven't messed with it yet. You did a great job with yours.

Building Jenson Button's MP4-31 from the 2016 Spanish Grand Prix. Kit is pretty much straight from the box, however I'm using carbon fiber from Studio27 (yuck), Scale Motorsports (yay!), and using the alcohol sponsor decals from MSM Creation.
The kit indicates using Tamiya Metallic Black paint, TS-40, however this color is incorrect. Unfortunately, I already had the decals on before I discovered this...so it will stay a little greyer than it should be. The actual color is closer to Tamiya's Gun Metal X-10.
Overall it went together pretty well...then I had a massive issue with the clear coats. It looked great for a few days, then started cracking, spidering, scaling. Nightmare scenario for a modeler. Took an extra month+ to get it right again, including re-painting some areas of the body shell. Still doesn't look as good as it once did, but overall a nice kit and passes the eye test from a few feet!
(Result: 9th)
