I was thinking about doing another Blue Thunder but lack of decently priced kits put me off. I built the original release in the late 80's. Where is that gun from?

@Black Baron, I agree. The prices of these kits is absurd but it is oop so it's expected that the sellers are going to push the prices up as much as they can. Would be nice to have a new kit of this chopper at decent prices on the market. The gun is the Master M61A1 20mm Vulcan cannon in 1/32. It's a bit longer than the Blue Thunder's original gun but it can be made to fit and IMHO, it looks much better than the original.

gun is certainly a nice improvement. i would love to get a Blue Thunder myself, but chances are slim to find one.

The problem isn't finding one. It's finding one for a reasonable price. eBay is full of them but most are rediculously priced. Especially if you take into consideration that the latest offering by Kitech in 2000-something, cost 15$ on eBay

Spanjaard, the gun is, IMHO, the worst part of the whole kit, i think it really deserves the investment. It sucks that the Aoshima kit is so expensive as it is better than the Monogram kit but in 1/48 scale.
Regarding my Blue Thunder, it's finished! 🙂 I'll get some better pics to post here later.
