Underside of fuselage and wings added. A bit of filler needed for both. 🙂

After a bit of a gap, I have added Hataka silver to underneath the fuselage. Next step will be to apply gloss varnish and attach the decals. 🙂

Decals now added, this was not a good experience as almost all of the lines in particular fell apart. 🙂

Added undercarriage and other bits and pieces. The canopy added to my woes with this model as it broke when taking off the sprue. 🙁 Other than that, I now declare this aircraft completed.
92 (East India) Sqn was equipped with the F.2 Lightning in April 1963 while based at RAF Linton-On-Ouse. In December 1965 the Sqn was relocated to RAF Geilenkirchen in West Germany. They moved with their F.2s again in January 1968 to RAF Gutersloh in West Germany and remained there until 31 March 1977. The Sqn re-roled with Phantoms on 1 April 1977 at RAF Wildenrath in West Germany.

Back in the late seventies I saw a Victor doing a three point refuel of Lightnings over my school, amazing.

A plane I didn't know until today. When I saw the pictures, I thought it was a MIG before reading the title and seeing the box. Then, I noticed the double reactor exhaust at the rear of the plane. Great job Guy !

Beautiful build of one of the most amazing planes ever built. From 0 to Mach 1 going straight up, an incredible plane.
17 June 2023, 16:17

@David, that must have been a great sight. Although I saw a lot of Lightnings, particularly in the very late 60s and early 70s, I never saw something as impressive as that. 👍
