P-51B Mustang 'Mighty 8th' Hasegawa 1:72 kit 51377

This kit is from around 1999, which is boxed from the original 1992 release.

My build is of 'The Deacon' P-51B-7-NA - No. 43-6898 piloted by Capt. Howard "Deacon'" Hively 334FS, 4FG, 8AF.

On the 6th of June '44, it was flown by pilot Maj. Winslow Sobanski & unfortunately KIA.

I painted it with Mission Model Paints. Eduard photo etch set. Decaled with a SuperScale set. Invasion stripes are painted. Referenced b/w pics for the weathering.
It appeared to have a whip antenna on the fuselage instead of the standard mast.

Now I'll have to build his earlier P-47C & later P-51D mounts.
