Much more work then expected. 

 

 

First try with selfprinted decals. Not perfect, but weathering will hide Dome inperfections.

I ruined the first X-2 paintwork by masking the body too soon. I wanted to paint the window rubbers. So i striped the paint by using IP 99%. I think there is no need to use any striping sulution. Also i cut out the intakes in the front! 

I left the complete body some days in the IP bath. So the hole tamiya paint came loose. Even the Mr. Surfacer grey primer came loose! I painted the hole car one again and decided to go on with the decals before clearcoat and paintig the black rubbers. 

The old Tamiya decals are horrible to me. The round body of this beautiful car and the intakes. But there are no more aftermarket Decals avelibel.
So i decided to weather this Beauty in the end, because hey it is the Monte- Winner. And the Monte is in Winter…? 

I tried my best with those decals and i think after westhering, you will not see much of my misteakes! 

 

 

 

 

After a long time away from this project, i want ro finish this one.

First steps of weathering with tamiya black panel liner and AK dirt deposits. 

 

 

I tried to do the steps slowly. I don‘t want too much dirt… so i started with the light sandy yellow deposit. Just to get a light dirty car.  

 

I also tried to imitate some dirt on the windscreen!
