I built that Colossus when I was 10 years old. What a fascinating model kit that is!

Question of the day:
Some model builders say especially about Oshkosh and M911 and similar Military Trucks/Cars: "I Love Kit" seems over engineered and "Hobby Boss" looks better, but sometimes "I Love Kit" looks better.
But both of them has pro and cons.
Personally I like over engineered kits and since I was a girl I wish there were more kits like these.
What do you think about?
Do you prefer "Nah, I just built easy and relative quick" or do you say "I want it the hard way - gimme details en masse"?
I am very curious! ^_~
Love you all! ♥

personal choice, no doubt. whatever makes you happy 🙂
some would think that doing a detailed PE cockpit in a 1/144 airplane that will never be seen again is totally nuts....and maybe it is, but I like it so I do it 😛
others prefer to go other way? respect and enjoy the ride!

I buy tanks with full interior, which others think is pointless, but I enjoy them. Then again, sometimes you might just want to do a build in order to test out a new paint range or something, in which case a quick build is ideal. Horses for courses, I guess.

I've just been playing with some SMS paint. It's called Abyss. It's airbrush ready, and the effects are amazing, in natural daylight. I sprayed mine over white, at first, and it took too much paint. So I swallowed my pride and covered everything in Semi Gloss Black, then shot the Abyss. It was an expensive lesson, but worth it.

My new Dehydrator for drying!
First test run with my models in it. Now my acrylics are fully cured, finally!
2 23 April, 10:42

I am sooo glad to have this one! It's so extremely convenient to have a Dehydrator as a "baking oven" for wet paint parts. ^-^
Also a great idea:
Soldering 2 crocodile clips on a string gauge wire, so you can clip it on the grid and to the model part. I will do some of it the next time and post it in the album, too.

Question of the day!
Thinking about a mini baking oven to dry faster my painted parts.
It has a minimum of 30°/86° C/F and convection for around 80 quid.
So:
Does anyone have such a thing and does it its job? Or do the plastic parts warp a bit?

Hey gorby! Thank you for your reply!
I understand you so far, but no, I won't use enamel paints anymore. I used it a very lot in my childhood and I always hated them coz of lack of details going down under them. Meanwhile I ordered an used Dehydrator and I will make some pictures of how I change it for fitting the parts in it.
Why I'm doing this?
Now it is my last week of vacancy and I'm a (in proper us-english) female semi truck driver in Germany (driving a Mercedes Actros with a long 40 Ton Tri-Axle Tipper-Trailer for scrap), so I have to work mostly from the night to the early evening. It is a very hard and much time consuming job I got.
In conclusion to this and coz I use mostly 2-4 layers of (airbrushed) paint - best example now is my chassis from the Pontiac with 4 layers meanwhile - it is very hard to cure them in a passable time. I painted my chassis around 2-3 days before and it is still a bit, how can I say, just touch dry. But you can feel it is still weak/soft paint.
So, in other words my goal is to dry may layers and parts in general much more efficient and of course faster because my life & space time is purely limited for let's say 1 hour per evening. That is really not satisfying to me. ^-^
PS: I'm using acrylic paints from Vallejo and Tamiya, only.

Fair enough. 🙂
It's something I've not heard of using for modelling before, quite an imaginative solution. I hope it works. It'll probably end up being cheaper than building multiple kits at the same time. 😄

I am a bit disappointed about my images. I cannot rotate them, although I "Manage" it in the options here. *sigh*
18 April, 14:06

I have no idea why it won't work for you, I've just tried it and it worked fine. Were you able to rotate any of the photos?
1 18 April, 14:23

I also have no idea. I do it like you mentioned before (pm) and it worked at first. Then there were some another new images which are also wrong in rotation and I "managed the album" and rotate them there. It shows right, yes. But back then to the Album it's all like before. Not changing at all. Very curios. In other words: In manage modus I can rotate them, but back to the album then, no, all the old rotations are shown, not the new corrected ones. ^-^
18 April, 22:26

report the issue with a link to the album in "Feature request" it is for new features, but also to report bugs.
1 18 April, 22:48

I don't know why, but when I upload my pictures here they are not right in rotation, although in my windows explorer they are. Why is it like this?
18 April, 00:17

Sometimes the camera orientation code overrides the display orientation – I'm not sure of the details.
If you go to 'Manage' and then 'Advanced options' you can change the orientation of your photos.
1 18 April, 07:09

Thank you, thank you, thank you! W/o your advice I would never get the point "Advanced options". Haha, cool! Thanks a lot! ♥
1 18 April, 09:12

Lots of people have problems with this, which makes me think the orientation process should be easier or more obvious. 🙂
1 18 April, 09:30

*laugh* yes, it should be bit more obvious or the upload script should "upload as is". But that is not in my area. You can do that! ^_~
