JackAll though Arrow's entry for the 1986 F1 Championship is sometimes refereed to as an A8B it was always listed on the entry sheets as an A8....while there were some modifications done to the A8 as it ran in 1985 the team considered those as minor and continued to refer to the cars as A8s.

JackWestern Models got the model right but the label on the box is all wrong...well not all wrong it is an Arrows but it's a 1979 Arrows A1B not an A1 from 1978. They got it right on the Instruction sheet just not on the box. The decals and rear wing allow you to make the cars as raced in Argentina and Brazil with the gold/black and red paint job or the cars as raced in South Africa in the simplified gold and black color scheme...from there on out the cars raced with a different rear wing configuration

JackThe 1981 the South African GP was scheduled to be the opening round of the 1981 F1 Championship, however an on going feud between FOCA and FISA resulted in the race run as a non-championship race with no points awarded. This is the only race in 1981 that Arrows ran in this all-over orange paint scheme...the rest of the year it was run with an orange cockpit surround and white side pods'

JackAlthough Tameo/SilverLine mark this kit as a DN5 it was entered by the team as a DN5B...the DN5B was entered by the Shadow Team in all 16 GPs in1976 (the last 5 GPs only Jarier used the DN5B as Pryce was racing the DN8 by then). The DN5B was entered in the Argentinian and Brazilian Grand Prix at the beginning of 1977 for Shadow's new driver Renzo Zorzi....

JackThis should not show up as an X-Tenariv kit it is a Tenariv kit...it is listed as a Tenariv kit but still shows up in the X-Tenariv search...

JackNote: X-Tenariv has marked this kit as an Renault RS11 / RS12...RS11 and RS12 were chassis numbers for the Renault RS10 model that was used during the most of the1979 season. Rene Arnoux used the RS10-RS12 chassis during the season running it in 8 GPs (he ran the RS01 model for the first 6 GP's of the season. Jean-Pierre Jabouille ran the RS10-RS11 chassis in 7 GPs in 1979 including his win in the French GP. Jabouille also ran the RS01 model in the early part of the season and also used The RS10-RS10 chassis and the RS10-RS14 chassis at times during the 1979 season. Bottom line this kit is of the Renault RS10 model raced by Renault in the 1979 season.

JackNote: Tameo obviously did not have the rights to use any team names for 1992, so they only had the race named on the box...many distributors made small stickers that they stuck on the boxes to further clarify which car the model kit was of...

JackThis kit was mislabeled by Meri Kits as a Tyrrell 012 - it is obviously a Tyrrell 014-Renault. Tyrrell did not enter a Tyrrell 012-Ford during the 1986 championship...having switched to the Renault engine powered 014 chassis in 1985. Meri Kits made 4 different kits of the Tyrrell 012 (all of which are listed on this site), they also released a 1985 version of the Tyrrell 014-Renault as well as the Tyrrell 015-Renault which Tyrrell entered in the last 13 races of the 1986 season...these kits are also listed here on ScaleMates...
