I would like to ask for Your advice, mates. I have problem with two parts. First is the exhaust - this part was to big to fit in the fuselage. I left it for later hoping I will think a way to deal with it. Maybe I will manager to cut the ending (just the part with grooves) so it will fit the fuselage this way. Second is the clear part. It is absolutely smooth and as if the planes canopy was composed of one part. I am afraid my skills are not enough to draw the lines myself and I am thinking about leaving it as it is, not painted.

with a bit of making tape, you can have a couple of lines. in that scale, they do not need to be anything thicker 😉
you can do it before you glue the canopy

Marcin. If you will position masking tape carefully you can paint very thin lines (primer first, then paint) - like here:

Hi Marcin 👋 yes the canopy is just one clear piece due to the scale, l didn't bother painting one on my model.
Yes your right about the exhaust..... My one didn't fit in the opening at the end.
I glued it just to the back and didn't push it inside fuselage.... I think that is how it should be.
I will take a photo of my one now and add it to my IAR-80 album for you to look at.
Good luck 👍👍

another solution is a decal of the right color cut on stripes and placed in the right place. if you do not have one of the right color, paint a spare one (very thin), cut it in stripes and then place it

The exhaust on the Starfighter is quite long out the back to get away from tail.
The glue will soften it into place a little and if you have any gaping you can fill it with filler, paint, or carefully with super glue.
Gently Gently with the fragile canopy.
Looking good you doing a nice job.
😃👍

Thanks for the advice Mr D. Today I tried Roberts method with the canopy. It went quite good, considering my skills 😅

Good for you Marcin 👍 it looks good.
Remember that poli glue can fog up canopy glass, lf you fix with poli best hold your canopy with a bit of blue-tak and just add a few drops with a pin, alot of people use PVA as it's bit safer.
👍👍

Phase one of remodeling the exhaust - I drilled a hole to make it look more realistic

That's better job, l painted a black circle, but this will look much better.
This Starfighter was one of my early builds.
Good luck on next steps 👍👍

Thanks Mr D. I manager to cut the exhaust with a mini grinder. The result is not perfect but once painted it looks ok.

Should be a better job, l looked at some photos of Starfighter and the exhaust is shorter and inward like you cut it.
Are you going to paint a bit of black on the inlet cone's ??
For detail work l found that "Nail liner brushes" are the best, they are for beauty parlours to paint pictures on women's nails, but incredibly fine for detail model work.
I get the 6mm ones. AliExpress, eBay ect.
Enjoyed watching the build 👍👍

They look a little bit different in real, the "0" brushes are very similar, most probably they have the same size. They seem ok so far.
