Yes indeed - a great mistake. But you can plunder the Tamiya kit -- if possible!!

@ Rui: The kit is ok. No radio in this kit but when its fully build you cant see much of the interieur. I have bought an update set from black dog for the exterieur, some bags,...

Thx for the feedback.
Strange to see the radiator picking new air from the inside of the car.
With that fan working it would be quit hot inside... Good in the winter in the eastern front, but in the desert...

Hi Kim, nice build so far. The greatest issue are the wheels, when they are mounted at the rims, they look a bit weird in my opinion. I would go with some aftermarked wheels, The floor has the wrong pattern, but no one sees it, when the kit is mounted😢😢😢

Would've been nice if they had included some magazines for the 20mm gun.

Thanks guys for all the info.
@Joerg: good idea for the wheels.

Looks great. I`ve the same one in my stock. The rubber-tires are the only problem of this model. I think I wil replace them by some aftermarket-products. I`m excited how your project goes on. Waiting for new pictures!!!

Rubber parts are a pain in the ass to paint for me. The paint sometimes peels off after you touch the parts to hard.

In my Opel Blitz Via Balbia | Album by mig (1:35)
I've just sprayed Humbrol enamels over them.
27 September 2017, 22:31

I hope it will work for you, Mate and you don't need to buy any aftermarket product😎
After all, this is a Hobby Boss kit, so it should build into a nice model OOB. At least I suspect that...

For their size, there is a lot packed into them. A great kit with great detail. well done. 👍

Well, I will try it. But often people tell that painted rubber-tires get brittle after one or two years. Let`s see what will happen.
28 September 2017, 15:53

@ Bastian
My Opel Blitz Via Balbia | Album by mig (1:35)
is from 2015 and I don't see any brittle in the rubber-tires.
@Kim, I remember now that I might have used first, the same paint that I'm still using as primer The unexpected Finland resistance - T26 | Album by mig (1:35)

It depends on wihich colours you use. When you use acrylics nothing normally happens, but when you use oils or enamels they will tear apart
28 September 2017, 19:45

Painted with Mig acrylics paintset German Grey. Hope you like it. Grtz.

On the issue of the vinyl tyres becoming brittle after painting.
Yes, IF you use enamels, as they are mineral/oil based paints, but acrylic that is diluted with water is not going to effect the vinyl at all.
I have quite enjoyed watching the build progress.
Very well done. 👍

Beautiful Vignette Kim, 👍
Also nice figure painting, a bit to clean IMHO comparing to the vehicle
23 January 2018, 19:26

Don't get me wrong Kim,
I think your figure painting is very good, 👍 but a little bit of dust on it, would integrate it better. Just my HO
23 January 2018, 19:32

No problem Rui. 👍 Thanks for the good tip. We will work on that.
23 January 2018, 19:36
