Hans Zwetsloot 著者After my ultra-modern F-35A build it was time for something ancient again, this time from 1953. As part of a series of Dutch post-war fighters I picked up Eduard's rendition of the Spitfire Mk.IX and built it as a Dutch spitfire in the tail-end of its post-war career with 322 Squadron. This one actually still flies as part of the RNlAF Historic Flight at Gilze-Rijen. Would you believe this is the first Spitfire I ever built in several decades of modeling?

Hans Zwetsloot 著者In another departure from my usual subject matter I decided to tackle a modern jet. It will accompany my recent Dutch Matchbox F-16A rebuild on my display shelf. I know next to nothing about this modern stuff so this was intended as a quick, relaxed build without the urge to build something accurate. For that I would also have been better off using a different kit as Italeri's surface detail is rather exaggerated. But hey, I have built a lot of Italeri kits and (usually…) like them. This one is a bit of a bear to build though...

Hans Zwetsloot 著者Finished another kit in sort of record time for my standards! Second time I built one of Fujimi's Skyhawk kits which are nice but a bit fiddly. Nevertheless pleased with the result. Next up from the workbench will be another Douglas "4", a Tamiya F4D that is already in the painting stage.

Hans ZwetslootAnd the third of my recent builds. This one was a bit of a diversion during my other builds. I decided to clear out a half-finished kit from my stash which was started by one of my kids but never finished. Not my usual cup of tea but could not bear to throw it away and thought it would be fun to slap it together. But of course it proved more of a hassle than intended, with only average results. But hey, it was fun bringing it back to life!

Hans ZwetslootThe second kit of the trio I have been working lately: the very nice Hasegawa F-14A. Quite a fiddly kit and this build did not nearly go as well as hoped. But that was mainly due to my own clumsiness in the finishing stage. But as always we live and learn!

Hans ZwetslootHi there! Just finished three kits in a row, with the first one the HobbyBoss U-2A. A nice kit built mostly out of the box with some small improvements to the cockpit and vertical fin. As with my other recent builds the finishing stage posed some problems, with the NMF finish not as good as I had hoped. Nevertheless a nice addition to my collection!
