Bill NewcomerVery nice detail work. All the lines on the chassis is way cool. I too could easily afford a 3D printer. I simply have no place to keep it. I could maybe rig one up in the attic to let it do its thing. However, at this point, I have SO much styrene to work on, I am not "needing" one as of yet.

Ben M3d printing is more difficult than you might think, and resin printing is pretty messy and toxic. I have one but I find I don't use it a lot because it's such a finicky process.

Christian WThe price feature is not that new. I know this possibility for a long time but but I don't add this information. I could, because I have my "long before scalmates-excel file and I write the prices down since 2007 (!). Just looked it up and I'm astonished, that I hold that back for such a long time.
This wrecker is one of my all-time favorit model kit. But I have to say: I had it twice and sold it twice. It is a great kit but I never wanted to built one. Instead of that, I bought one, what was built up and sits in a case. It sits in my office 😉 I have two more but one is "trash" and the other has to berestored. Some pieces fell off. I planned a built with an COE body. I started it here (1987 Kenworth COE Wrecker | Project by christian-w (1:25) - the album contains the two defekt wrecker) but it is on hold. Damend. Started in 2006 - where does the time go so fast?? ... You paid a very good price!
...and your Idea of a list, what you've should have been built is a great idea 😄 I see it year by year, when I push started project into the collection of the next year *lol*

BozzerRecently, they've been selling for quite cheap. It's also possible to use the AMT Wrecker bed, and build your own crane. I also plan to build a Holmes Wrecker, on the back of something? If you check out your instructions, you'll also notice that the third set of wheels on your Can Do, are on a lift axle? A great way to get the look, without the hassle of another axle 🙂

BozzerI updated my 359 album for you. Hopefully, it will convince you that my offer is for real? I want to see you build this without issues, because it's such an iconic kit. Anything I can do to help, I shall. There's absolutely NO part, that I don't have, more than twice. You might want to check your chrome sprues though. The handrails that go on the bed, are prone for breakage, from the factory. These kits, were never packed, very well. 🙁

Martin Oostrom ForfatterI just checked all the bags. There are 3 pieces loose in total, and all handrails are okay, albeit a bit bendy, And yes Bozzer, I'll take you up on your offer.
One corner of the box has been mistreated and that is exactly where the cab is.
And the cat will be executed before I build this one. I might practice on my other 359 to get the hang of it.

SpanjaardTransall NG, seeing the instructions and the inbox reviews I think that Academy got the front wheel quite different from the real 262 in this kit... I also see other academy models in SCM that have exactly the same front wheel as Martin's build.

Martin Oostrom ForfatterGoldman, mine is one of 2 marked as completed here on Scalemates. So I guess it is a rarity when built.
The combination found a new temporary parking spot just below the tv. My wife wanted her shelf back 🤫
In the end it will move to my cabinet. Too many destructive forces roam my living room, including said wife.

Martin OostromThis kit goes together relatively well. The truck has few fit issues, which can be solved by dry fitting.
The trailer needs some attention to get the box squared. The mounting of the axles to the chassis is a bit flimsy, not much contact area to glue.
There is a hook on the underside of the chassis, near the rear. Remove this, as it might interfere with the rearmost storage bin.
Pay attention to both parts Z3 on the rearmost storage bin. I think the instructions show them upside down. Position them in the same manner as the larger storage bin.
The decal work on the truck is a pick your poison choice. You either glue the cab, paint and decal like I did, but I had to leave out the interior on the doors to get the rest of the interior in. Or you paint, decal and clearcoat the parts first, before glueing.
I think the latter option gives you better results on the decals, but you MUST pay attention to alignment.
And there are some dotted lines in the decals, these need to be cut BEFORE getting the decals wet.
Not a kit for decal novices!

BozzerThey both are, Italeri molds, mate. Just take your time and double check everything. Personally, I'd build it, just because of the picture you have. That would make a fitting print, as a backdrop, when displaying it 🙂

Alexander GrivonevNice one Martin👍 Have you considered applying a second layer of clear? Let the first one dry, smooth it out a little bit and give it another round of high gloss. Works for me every time if the first round is not as smooth as I wanted it to be and gives you more "buffer" for sanding and polishing
