I was indeed expecting a CF-121 Redhawk (aka "Stratocaster") to appear some day in our newsfeed... Good job!

I couldn't live with the armored glass vent windows so made new ones from acetate sheet and installed them "open"

Thank you very much!
The windows were a simple (well simple compared to other work) job of scanning the Nazca decals sheet of the cabin windows (he includes the windows as decals) then cutting the paper scan out, using pva, gluing it to the side of the model and using a grinding tool in a Dremel to drill and grind out the shape created by the paper decal. Then re-wet the paper template loosening the pva glue and scrubbing away the paper template...easy as sliding on ice.

Ha, piece'a'cake!!! 😉
Thanks mate for the detailed explanation. I had a similar problem civilizing my Focke Wulf Fw-200 from a (military) C-, to the civil A-version but dreaded the effort and doubted my skill. So I chose a different approach.
Again. The -8 is a beauty and all the effort you put in catches the attention. For civil aviation my model of the year.

That’s not a 1977 Dodge Charger, looks more like a 1973- 1974 model year

Wow, great work, I love the wiring of the engine bay! From where are those badass rear wheels?
27 June 2024, 08:16

Thank you sir!
The rear wheels and tires are home made, I used the kit vinyl tires as a master, cut two tires flat on one side (sidewall) at the proper width (for a 295/ 50 15") that my car had, super glued them together on those flat faces and made a mold and cast them in resin. The wheels needed a different method, I used a "imp" tube cutter to cut a small section of brass tube then glued those sections of a brass tube (barrel or, bell) to the wheel front lip and rear lip rims to widen them….tough to explain in a way that makes sense

That engine compartment looks great! No comparison to the old MPC kit. Your detailwork is really good. I like the vinyl roof. Thank you for uploading the pictures!

WOW...what a stunner Chris! I really like the effects on the panels. Too cool! Is that Alclad on the nozzles?
14 June 2024, 16:13

Hi Ken, great to hear from ya!
Yes, Alclad tail pipes…..shot at least 6 different shades before I could call myself satisfied. Damned things look a different color in every angle on the real thing
