Interesting, I wonder if it will more accurately reflect the pre-production tanks than Zvezda's kit.

Looking great, I like the look of these trumpeter KV-1 tanks. As for the bits you do not need, some kits have parts for other kits that share similarities, so on that sprue there maybe parts for another different KV tank models.

Ah ok thank you, I am quite new in scale modelling. Maybe it is for the mod. 1942 or even the KV-2 with its enourmus turret 😄

Those parts are applique armour for KV-1 tanks produced in the summer of 1941.
